So the last few months have been crazy, working at Urbanlife Magazine, making the site, photographing, getting to new the town etc, well let’s just say it has been a bussy time =) So after a whole month of working continuously to put the magazine website online, I thought I had deserved a little holiday and so I booked my flight to Lisbon =) I’d arrive on the 2th of August and I’d depart back on the 11th, well everything went well, saw my boyfriend but on the 6th of August when I was going with my best friend Flavia to the beach we had a car accident which made it impossible to go back to London..

When I stopped and waited for some cars in front of me to cross the road, a pick up truck hit us from behind, at almost 100km/h that is, while you ae only allowed to go 50km/h on that road –’ My friend only hurt her leg but I didn’t have that luck .. Went unconscious a small time, a plastic thing from behind on impact hit me on my head from behind, got a whiplash and big concussion to my head and cervical area .. So that was ambulance, hospital Caldas, 7 hours in observation, medics forgetting to give me my meds (only 3 hours after I arrived at the hospital, thank you!) again ambulance, up to medical centre in Torres Vedras doing a CAT scan –’ again ambulance, hospital in Caldas .. Oh well my day was fun ..

So now I’m having some time off, will fly on the 7th of October from Lisbon to Madrid for a holiday with my dad and than we’ll go on the 14th to London where my dad will stay a week with me =) There are going to be looooaaadddsss of photo’s =) Until than I’m still going to shoot some things here in Portugal =) I’ve got to sit quiet or 6 weeks anyway, so .. Oh well, expect updates here & I might even revamp the whole site ^.~

Last Sunday I went early to St. Pauls to meet two girls. We had organized a shoot for that day, and I was hoping everything would go as planned and secretly I was also hoping I could have a good amount of time and more than one location. Maelle and Natascha are both models but Natascha is also a make up artist, and a good one. She really helped out a lot on the shoot and they were looing amazing. The theme was suposed to be very summer like with short dresses and Dior Autumn 2010 style big hair. Well they really did a great job with the hair and styling! I really Recommend everyone to work with these two, they are amazing, not only as models and make up artist, but also as persons!

We did two different locations; near St. Pauls and near the horse guard parade, a lot of diferent outfits but I haven’t edited out all the best yet, but soon I will hae the pictures up. For now, here are some behind the scenes and some of the best images from that day. Once again I’ll say it: I loved working with them and I really look forward to doing another shoot with them!

It really was a lot of fun. A lot of guys came up to us when we were behind the horse guard parade when we were doing a certain shoot which included a bra, high heels, leather jacket and jeans, they even asked to pose with the models, and who am I not to let them? =) Overall It was a great day and I really learned a lot from it.

Of course I won’t only talk about myself, so here I have a link for you. I was contacted a few days ago by a dutch photographer and I looked at his portfolio, and I just really found it amazing, especially the butterfly images and the stardust images, It really gave me a lot of inspiration for upcomming shoots, so here is the link, please go there, it is really worth the time =)

I got to know a lot of new people this week, some who I really respect a lot and I also found out something people say is true; “if you really want to get somewhere, because you love it and want it badly, you get there on a certain moment, the only thing you have to do is want it very badly and work very hard to get there”. I may have finaly got where I wanted to go, but I also know that I still have to work hard, because opportunities will fly away as fast as they came, and I have just got to get on the train, get my foot in the door and hope the door doesn’t close at me.

Taking risks is something very few people do but the ones that aspire to get there will take every single oportunity to get somewhere. That’s why I don’t turn down chances, be they small or large, because even one that looks small the first time I spot it, can turn out to be a huge life turning one.

Ooowh, I’m so happy today! My day started out quite normal, just like every day, waking up because of the sound of people drilling the floor of the building next to me and checking my email. I got a comfirmation for a shoot this sunday, and everything is going acording to plans =)
I talked to some people I know in Portugal, to schedule shoots and trips and stuff, 12 days in Portugal isn’t a very long time, at this moment I’m already almost over booked :s But still thing went normal, nothing special .. Until I opened my email around 6 =)

I had aply to got a major fashion event tomorrow in the centre of London, you can only get in with invitation, and only people with good credentials will get the invite, and I thought, I would like to try it,  there are a lot of people out there who find that you need to be a bit older to be serious about your job, especialy in fashion, but I’m serious about what I do and because of my age I work double as hard. Well I guess they liked my portfolio, because I got the invitation! So tomorrow I’ll be going to the  Urban Life Magazine – Fashion & Media Industry Night. Yes, I am really happy and I really hope I meet some new talented people who have the same ideas as me and maybe we can work something out =)

But that was not all. I aplyed a few weeks ago to be part of the photographic team of the Leeds end of summer fashion show, It is for benefit and I really wanted to do this, even though it might not pay, I will learn new things and I’ll see a new place, I have never been outside of London in the UK and I would really want to see more so this would be a great oportunity. And guess what? Yeah you already guessed it didn’t you?!? Sneaky! I got the job =D In august I’ll be going to Leeds to The end of summer fashion show!! And I’m part of the official photographic coverage!!

Yes this all means I’m just really happy. And this is what my Calendar looks like at the moment

Here is some more inspiration for you guys I was having course at the time this was made by my mentor Mário Principe. I really like his stuff, and I’m very glad I worked with him, couldn’t have found a better teacher or a friend. Thank you Mário & Melissa for everything =)
